It's just like he's sitting in your living room talking to you.
I'm reading every word of it, not just skipping from picture to picture, caption to caption as I do with most mixed media books. He takes us on a most enjoyable and enlightening journey through places I'll never visit, and captures the sights, sounds, and flavor of them. He is our travel guide. You can't be around Michael without seeing he has a great sense of fun and play - and that is conveyed in his work and the book. He gives good details of paint finishes he uses, and there are pictures that show the colors and how they blend together.
Dusty Diablos: Folklore, Iconography, Assemblage, Ole! -- Michael deMeng
The photos were taken to show the details well - and make it fun to look at every little inch of the pieces. I am enjoying the book, chapter by chapter. I will be recommending it to all my friends because I'm not sure I want to loan it out to everyone. It might not make it back again. Read full review. Michael Demeng is one of my favorite found-art assemblage artists and once again with this book he really impressed me with the variety of original pieces he put together, while still being true to both the Mexican cultural legends and his own flair for the odd and wild.
If you like dimensional pieces that have some deep story and meaning behind them, this book is for you. Hopefully it will help spark your own imagination as it did mine!
Not what I expected. It's all about inspiration, with very little about technique.
- When The Dead Walk (The Infected One Book 1).
- Wenn die Seele leidet: Handbuch der psychischen Erkrankungen (German Edition)?
- Explaining Covenants (The Explaining Series).
If that had been in the description, I wouldn't have purchased it. Nice for what it is - but not what I wanted at all. Wonderful book like new and fast ship. I bought another book by this author soon afterwards.
