Book one, A Glimmer of Hope, was pretty good, with a fairly straightforward nuclear apocalypse scenario with a great opening and then a complex sustained narrative.
This book 2 picks up where the other one left off. It wasn't quite as intense, but a couple of the several storylines really caught me up in them. I won't give you any spoilers, but expect some surprises from King, whose books always seem to have twists I would never think of, but which work anyway. I'll be following King and expecting good things from him over the coming years. I have been on a kick lately reading a lot of post apocalyptic series.

I have to say so far Land of Tomorrow series is very good. The way you get to see all different characters and how there story line goes is great. I really love this series can't wait to start book 3. I really enjoyed where the author took the story in this 2nd book of the series. Of course, it kept what I've learned to expect - some plot twists and unexpected events. I also liked that there were some fresh new groups and threats to keep the story humming along. I've purchased the 3rd book and will start reading it immediately.

DNF - More of a Military Strategy I was very disappointed to wade through this book, only to encounter numerous spelling and grammatical errors which never fail to pull me out of a story. Your instead of you're, as one example. There were unbelievable events, such as the age of the sons and their roles and capabilities. Aug 20, Tina Cyphers-Hubler rated it really liked it. Glimmer of Hope was refreshing in that we were able to see where the Apocalypse began. I feel like if there really was an Apocalypse, this is how it would be.
Scary to think about! Aside from some minor typos, it was a really good book. I can't wait to read the second book in the series. Mar 04, C. The story behind why he wrote this book was also a pleasant surprise - and high praise for his integration of real fears of a father and the "what if" scenario. Anxious to see where the series goes next, although this book does stand well on its own. Many storylines are in play here, and come together in an epic finale. There is a bit of a Christian element that is very natural and appreciated. There's no romance and just a bit of swearing. I picked this story up for free on Amazon and it is a suitable standalone, but it's caught my attention and I'll be looking up the rest of the series for sure!

There was quite a bit of military strategy in it but it made the story believable, even for someone without that background. This story is what I imagine it to be if such a situation were to really occur.
